Newport, RI- The Greater Newport Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce an official partnership and sponsorship for their Politics & Pancakes series in 2024. The series will be held on a quarterly basis and will be hosted in partnership with The Pell Center at Salve Regina University as the venue for all four events. The series will be sponsored by Bally’s Corporation.
At the first event of the series, taking place on Monday, February 5th, guests will hear from Governor Dan McKee as he discusses his budget and overall policy agenda for the 2024 legislative session. For each event, tickets include admission and a full, seated breakfast. Guests will enjoy hearing from the keynote speaker as well as networking with members of the local business community.
“This is one of my favorite event series each year, where we get to hear about legislative priorities from our state’s leaders and members can ask questions about public policy impacting their businesses and regional economic development. I’m thrilled to be able to partner with the Pell Center to bring these important discussions to Greater Newport and thankful to Bally’s for their support and investment in the Chamber to enable these events to take place,” stated Erin Donovan-Boyle, President & CEO of the Greater Newport Chamber.
“Bally’s is pleased to sponsor this informative series that seeks to foster greater dialogue and partnership between the public and private sectors,” said Marc Crisafulli, chairman of the Bally’s Rhode Island Board of Directors. “We are grateful for the leadership of the Greater Newport Chamber of Commerce in convening this series, and to the Governor and state elected officials who will participate.”
“We’re excited to welcome Politics & Pancakes to campus,” said Jim Ludes, Vice President for Strategic Initiatives at Salve Regina University. “When Senator Pell gave his name to the center, he hoped it would be a place to bring individuals together for discussions about important issues. I’m grateful to the Greater Newport Chamber of Commerce for the opportunity to make good on that part of our mission.”
The Politics & Pancakes series is dedicated to bringing government officials and leaders to the area for speaking programs and panel discussions on issues of importance to the local business community. Each year, the series welcomes the Governor, members of the General Assembly, members of the Congressional Delegation, and others to speak on policy issues impacting Rhode Islanders.
The Pell Center is located at 518 Bellevue Avenue, Newport. Free, onsite parking is available. Advanced registration is required and can be made at NewportChamber.com/events. Questions and group reservation requests can be sent to Kate@newportchamber.com.
