Kathryn (Kitty) Pilgrim is an award-winning broadcast journalist and thought leader in global affairs and media. During her 25-year tenure as a correspondent and anchor at CNN, she provided in-depth geopolitical and economic analysis, and has become known as one of the top voices in television. She was a correspondent for economic and international affairs, and her thousands of broadcasts and reports were viewed in more than 150 countries. She anchored her own morning show Inside Edition, and became a CNN prime-time anchor, a position she held for more than a decade. She has reported on almost every region of the world and has interviewed countless heads of state and political leaders.
She currently works in the fields of Women, Peace, and Security as well as Leadership and Media Communications, helping shape thinking on how world leaders and journalists contribute to stability in society. She is a lifetime member of the Council on Foreign Relations and has published at CFR on topic of the global advancement of women. She is active with the National Committee on American Foreign Policy, serving as a mentor in the Northern Ireland Young Leaders program. She has served on many boards including Manhattanville College, the Overseas Press Club, the East-West Institute, the NY board of Paris-based Reporters Without Borders. Her current broadcast activities currently include television guest appearances and producing her own branded podcast Pilgrim?s Progress, which seeks to highlight accomplishments of women who make a difference in society. She has recorded a TEDx presentation on the benefits of the globalization of media, and she lectures frequently on that subject.
She holds a bachelor?s degree from Manhattanville College, where she is now an adjunct professor, teaching on the topics of Women Peace and Security and Leadership Communications. In 2012, she was awarded a Doctor of Humane Letters from Manhattanville College. She holds a master?s in international and public affairs from Columbia University in NYC and studied at the Harriman Institute for Russian Studies. She is completing a Graduate Certificate in International Security at the Harvard Extension School. She was a distinguished fellow at East-West Institute in New York, active in their international security program. In the field of Asia-Pacific security, she was a fellow at the East West Center in Honolulu, participating in three separate fellowship programs for Korea, China and was awarded the Hong Kong Journalism fellowship. She was a fellow at Salzburg Seminar in Austria for Asia Pacific Security. She lectures and participates in events and programs around the world, including the US Naval War College and the US Naval Postgraduate School, the Council on Foreign Relations and Pacific Forum, East-West Center and Vital Voices.
