Job Summary
This position is seasonal from late April through October. The Captain is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the operations and safety of the vessel and crew. This position requires strong decision-making skills, effective communication, and the ability to manage various aspects of maritime operations. The Captain ensures compliance with maritime laws and regulations while maintaining a high standard of service and safety for all onboard.Duties
- Lead and manage the crew, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to safety and hospitality protocols.
- Be an excellent, confident sailor and boat handler. Prior schooner experience and experience in the day sail or hospitality industry a plus.
- Conduct regular inspections of the vessel's mechanical systems and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operations during voyages.
- Provide training and guidance to crew members, fostering a team-oriented environment.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, implementing safety procedures as necessary.
- Maintain accurate logs of all activities, including navigation, maintenance, and crew performance.
Skills
- Must possess a U.S. Coast Guard license. Minimum 50 ton 100 ton + preferred. Inland or Near Coastal with Aux Sail Endorsement.
- Strong leadership abilities to effectively manage a diverse team.
- Proficient in routinizing operations to enhance discipline and efficiency among crew members.
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to vessel equipment and systems.
- Excellent communication skills for clear interaction with crew members, passengers, and shore-based personnel.

Pay: $300.00 - $375.00 per day
Expected hours: 30 – 45 per week
