    What: The Greater Newport Chamber of Commerce is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Community Manager to join our team. This role is integral to fostering a vibrant and collaborative community within our coworking and innovation hub, Innovate Newport. The Community Manager will support the Greater Newport Chamber of Commerce by overseeing the day-to-day operations of the facility and providing exceptional service to our tenants and members, helping to build a thriving business ecosystem in the Greater Newport region.

    Who: We are looking for enthusiastic and proactive individuals with a passion for innovation and community-building. Ideal candidates will possess strong communication, sales, operational, and customer service skills. A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in community management, facility management, membership organization, customer service, or a related field is preferred. Applicants should be organized, able to multitask, and have a proven track record of driving community engagement and satisfaction. 

    Key qualifications include:
    Experience in building and nurturing relationships with diverse stakeholders
    Strong event planning and execution skills
    Ability to manage daily operations and maintain a productive environment
    Proven track record in sales and marketing to drive membership growth
    Excellent problem-solving and strategic planning abilities
    Strong oral and writing skills
    Proficiency in CRM database management and Microsoft Office Suite

    Key Responsibilities include:
    1. Tenant and Member Relations: Build and nurture relationships with current tenants and members, responding to their needs, addressing concerns, and ensuring a positive, supportive experience. Foster open communication to ensure their continued satisfaction and success within the space. 

    2. Community Building & Engagement: Create and execute internal events that build community and strengthen relationships among members, such as holiday parties, networking events, and other fun, collaborative activities. Regularly communicate with members through a weekly email blast, calendar updates, and the hallway monitor to keep everyone informed of upcoming events, workshops, and opportunities.

    3. Sales and Marketing: Drive membership growth by recruiting new members through targeted sales and marketing efforts. Promote Innovate Newport’s unique value proposition to potential members, leveraging both digital and in-person strategies to attract new businesses and individuals. Promote membership packages, manage tours, and onboard new members.

    4. Facility Rentals & Concierge Services: Oversee and manage facility rentals, ensuring that all event spaces are properly prepared and equipped. Act as a concierge to support event hosts with setup, cleanup, and technology needs. Provide exceptional customer service to ensure smooth, successful events, including coordinating audio/visual setups and ensuring the space meets the host’s requirements.

    5. Daily Operations: Oversee day-to-day operations to maintain a productive and welcoming workspace.

    6. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with leadership to develop long-term strategies for community growth and development, identifying opportunities to enhance the member experience and optimize facility usage.

    7. Reporting and Feedback: Track KPIs, gather insights, and share progress with management.

    Where: This position is based at Innovate Newport in Newport, Rhode Island and is 100% in person. The Community Manager is expected to be onsite during working hours and on-call during off hours for any issues arising.
